Administration

Position Summary:

Support clinical staff by performing non-clinical tasks related to department.

Roles/Functions:

Assist with phones
Assist with clerical upon request

Competency (Knowledge, skills, abilities):

Must be able to see, hear and communicate clearly
Attention to detail and ability to follow directions
Demonstrate empathy and good listening skills
Must be able to sit for 60%-80% of shift

Animal Therapy

 

Description:

Escort the animal therapy dogs and their owners as they make round to patient and waiting rooms

Department:

Volunteers

Times Needed:

Bi-weekly, Fridays 1p-3p

Day Surgery Unit

 

Description:

Discharge patients, make copies, assemble packets, change linens in patient rooms, re-stock rooms, etc.

Department:

Day Surgery

Times Needed:

Monday-Friday

5am-4pm

Information Desk/Surgery Waiting

 

Description:

Greet and welcome guests, escort families to post-op, assist guests/patients with wayfinding, assist in keeping the waiting room tidy.

Department:

Day Surgery

Times Needed:

Monday-Friday

8am-5pm

Women's Services Helper/Labor and Delivery

 

Department: Volunteer Services

Position summary: Assist staff

Time commitment: 2-4 hour shift once per week

Work environment: Women's Services - Labor and Delivery

Physical demands: Bending, sitting, standing, walking, pushing

Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old

 

Qualifications:

  • Extroverted, mature, and positive
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Desire to work in an active, fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Proactive and flexible

 

Duties:

  • Clerical duties:
    • Filing and creating folders for incoming patients
    • Answering phones from outside line
    • Buzzing people in the door
  • Volunteers ARE NOT ALLOWED to transport patients for discharge
  • Volunteers ARE NOT ALLOWED to answer call lights
  • Checking dates on medical supplies
  • Stocking rooms
  • Wipe down and clean front nurses station counters and computers
  • Strip beds with unsoiled linens
  • Assist with bed movement
